It is through the ISO/TS 16949 and AIAG Core Tools that Lectronix executes both the Production Part Approval Process* (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning* (APQP) processes that establish the steps necessary to ensure that outsourced components comply with the quality specifications of both that of the customer and the industry.
Experience and Capabilities
*ISO/TS 16949:2002 is an ISO Technical Specification which aligns existing US, German, French and Italian automotive quality system standards within the global automotive industry. ISO/TS 16949:2002 specifies the quality system requirements for the design/ development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products.
*The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) defines requirements for production part approval, including production and bulk materials. The purpose of PPAP is to determine if all customer engineering design record and specification requirements are properly understood by the supplier and that the process has the potential to produce product consistently meeting these requirements during an actual production run at the quoted production rate.
*Advanced Product Quality Planning. (APQP) is a quality framework to develop new products, particularly in the automotive industry. The output of the process is a quality plan that will support the development of a new product that will be of the quality required by the customer. This quality is maintained throughout the life of the product and is quite similar to the concept of design for Six Sigma.
